Fonthill Music Programs

The Fonthill Music Academy offers a variety of lessons in music, art and dance. Whether you are 2 or 102 we have an exciting curriculum for you! Over 75 years of teaching experience including a Master’s Degrees in music, art, education and drama along with acclimates from Symphonies, Operas and a variety of other performing venues.

Piano Lessons

Piano (RCM/Recreational) lessons are held; Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Evening and day lessons available. $17 – 30 min lesson

Music for Young Children Program
Sunrise 1

Sunrise is an exciting and innovative music program containing a variety of age appropriate music and movement activities.  Develops children’s listening awareness, fine motor skills, social interaction, confidence and attention span.

Age 2 1/2 and 3 1/2
30 weeks (3- 10 week sessions)

Multi-Instrumental Program

This is a series of 32 exciting weeks of instrumental instruction offered on Thursday evenings.  The 32 weeks are broken down into your choice of 4 – 8 week blocks.  Within these blocks your child will take part in the following lessons:

Piano Violin Percussion Voice Guitar

Upon completion your child will have experienced 4 of the above which will help in deciding which instrument(s) is best for your child to pursue.  We will have keyboards, acoustic guitars and violins available to rent for a nominal fee. Previous instruction is not necessary, but Ms. Treble Clef’s Theory Lessons or a similar program would be beneficial.

$30.00 instrument rental for 8 weeks




Dual Instrumental Program

This series of 36 weeks Classes will be limited to max. 4 students.

Voice/Piano
Guitar/Percussion
Rental of instruments available at an additional cost.




Jr. Mozart and Sr. Mozart Program

Music, Movement & Art (45 min) – This is a series of 32 amusing and entertaining classes for your 2-4 year old.   Be amazed at how quickly your child engages in these lessons and how they are captivated by their own movement and musical abilities.  Each class will highlight small instrument exploration and instruction, storytelling (with our musical critters), song, movement, and an art project.  Classes are taught by educated, licensed instructors.  Classes are available mornings and evenings.

Theory Lessons Program

Theory program that is designed to ensure a comprehensive understanding and knowledge of music.   Requirement to receiving your practical certificate students will prepare to write the Royal Conservatory of Music Examination in May 2009.  These exams provide an international standard of recognition and are accepted as a credit towards a Secondary School Diploma.

Preliminary Rudiments - Friday 4:30 - 6:30 p.m
Grade One Theory and Grade Two -TBA
32 weeks – books and Royal Conservatory exam fee extra.




Band Training Program

Do you know where your child is hanging out?  We offer a venue for them to gather and perform music with their friends.  This is a great opportunity for your child to gain experience and play some popular music in a group environment.  They will work with our music teachers to enhance their instrumental abilities while learning to play as a group.  A variety of musical styles are available, Rock/Pop, Jazz, Blues etc.  They will not only learn to play at a higher level but will also learn to improvise and experience the dynamics of teamwork which will motivate, inspire and reward.
